Is there any way to make humans immortal? You must have seen such stories of immortality and immortality many times in films. If you like watching movies on science fiction, then you must have heard about Cryosleep.
This concept is such that a person goes into deep sleep in it. In such a deep sleep that waking up after years is like being alive again. You get to see this concept in Interstellar. Why only Interstellar, we get to see something like this in the story of Captain America and Soldier Boy in The Boys.
Where Captain America gets buried in ice in an accident and is found alive after years, but his age has stopped. Whereas Soldier Boy is preserved. Well, all these things are from the movies. The question is, can this happen in real life too?
From where did the journey start?
Actually, many people want to live forever in the world and the result of this desire is Cryosleep. Scientists are working on this technology all over the world. The concept of Cryosleep starts from Cryonics.
The concept of cryonics begins with a book. Michigan professor Robert Ettinger mentioned this in his book The Prospect of Immortality. It is not that it is being developed only to make people immortal. Rather it will also be used in space mission.
The word cryonics is derived from the Greek language, which means cold. This whole process works on such an imagination, in which a person is kept at -196 degree Celsius, so that his body does not deteriorate. So that sometime in future he can be woken back from sleep.
By the way, many people have been kept frozen all over the world, but these people were not frozen alive. In this, a person’s body is cooled to -200 degree Celsius and kept in a container filled with liquid nitrogen. No one has been brought alive under this process yet, but this hypothesis will take us to a new dimension.
What is the complete process of Cryosleep?
Imagine that someday we will invent this technology. What will happen in that case. Actually, Cryosleep is such a process, in which the motion of the human body is stopped by drugs or chamber or any other way.
They must be being preserved in the hope that one day they will be revived when needed. Many such scenes come in films, but this has not happened in real life.
Yes, it is expected that one day in future this technology will be developed. When doctors or scientists will be able to wake up frozen people from sleep, but this is not possible now. Then the question arises why this technology is being discussed.
Actually, in the year 2016, something happened to a young man named Justin Smith in Pennsylvania, which was only being imagined for years. Justin Smith, 26, had left the house at night and did not return. When the family members found him, he was buried in snow for hours.
He did not die even after being buried in snow for almost 9 hours. His body was frozen. According to the reports, the young man’s face had turned blue. Neither his breathing was going on, nor the pulse. Doctors and family members did not give up hope. The body temperature of the young man was so low that it was not possible to treat him.
After this the doctors took him to a hospital where ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) facility is available. This machine heats the blood present in the body and helps in pumping it again in the body. Justin Smith regained consciousness about 30 days after the start of treatment.
Journey from ‘sleep’ to ‘dreams’
Efforts have been going on for a long time to make this technology a reality. Space Work Enterprises and NASA are working together on this. Both the organizations are trying to prepare such a static chamber, which can make cryosleep a reality. These organizations believe that if this concept is ready, it will be very easy to complete any space mission.
For example, whether to set up a human settlement on Mars or to send an investigation team to some other planet. Cryosleep will greatly increase the chances of success of these missions. Actually, before sending someone into space in consciousness, that person has to be prepared physically and mentally.
On the other hand, if someone is sent to space in sleep, then the effects on him during space travel can be reduced. This whole story will be like a dream come true. Means a deep sleep… the sleep which brings dreams and the dreams for which this sleep has been chosen to come true.
