Netflix password sharing: If you are sharing your Netflix account password with your friends and colleagues, there is bad news for you. Netflix will stop sharing passwords starting next year. Netflix has been trying to get rid of the password sharing system for a long time. Reports say that this will soon become a reality.

Starting in 2023, Netflix users will no longer be able to share their account passwords with friends, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. Password sharing has been a big problem with Netflix subscriptions since they started, but the company didn’t address the issue until it was losing subscribers in a big way.

The company recognized the need to end password sharing earlier this year after Netflix’s revenue plummeted and the platform lost a large number of subscribers for the first time in 10 years. Following this, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that the long-standing password sharing process will end soon.

According to reports, Netflix will soon disable the option to share passwords with anyone outside the home. In an effort to curb free password sharing, Netflix may start charging for each one. This means that if you share your Netflix password with someone outside of your household, that person will have to pay a new fee to use the profile. With this, no one can use Netflix without paying.

Netflix is testing the new password sharing option in some Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, Chile, and Peru. People who want to share Netflix accounts on these markets are charged $3 (roughly Rs. 250). The company has not revealed how much it will charge for this service in India.
