Chinese search engine Baidu on Thursday launched an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot known as Eni Bot. It’s also thought to be a sign of what could be China’s strongest rival to US research lab OpenAI’s ChatGPIT. However, international media reports that the Chinese ladder is not as good as expected.

Artificial intelligence technology is taking off like a rocket from the launch pad. From stories, poetry and essays on chat GPT to drawing and digital painting on some other generative art platforms, AI technology is touching. It is also noteworthy that the Chinese ladder has come at this time.

Baidu is the last word in China for search engine and autonomous driving technology services. Baidu officials claim that the AI service has been introduced after all tests have been completed. Baidu is also targeting a chatbot equivalent of OpenAI’s ChatGPIT, which is very popular in the world today. The chatbot is expected to be integrated into Beidu’s search and cloud services as well. Eni will also offer smart car and smart speaker services.

The ladder was introduced to the world by Robin Li, CEO and founder of Beidu, which is based in Haidian District, Beijing. Robin Li had previously said that AI technology has reached a critical stage and its inevitable penetration will soon be in all industries in the world. Baidu was founded in 2000. Today, Baidu is the second largest search engine in the world after Google. In addition to the search engine, Beidou also offers a mapping platform called Beidou Maps and an encyclopedia called Beidou Beik. In 2017, Baidu signed an agreement with Snap, a leading American social media company.

Of course we can’t say it’s perfect, it’s being introduced so fast because the market demands it,” said Robin Li, introducing the ladder bot. Meanwhile, Ernie Bot’s presentation was limited to short, pre-recorded videos. There are also reports that it has failed to match market expectations. And Baidu’s shares fell nearly 10 percent.

In China, the technology scene was well-trodden during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before that, the government’s interventions in the technology sector also shook the tech companies. Many companies are trying hard to recover energy. ChatGPT was released last November 30. ChatGPT has become a huge hit among users from various fields. It was notable that even India’s business magnate Gautam Adani said that Chat GPT is something he is very interested in. Google’s Bard has come up as an alternative to ChatGPIT. Another tech giant, Microsoft, has also actively stepped into this field
