Follow these steps for new chat

  • To use the end-to-end encryption feature with Instagram chat, open the app on your device and go to the DM section.
  • Then click on the + icon. You will find it on the top right side.
  • After this, just below To, click on the Start end-to-end-encrypted chat option.
  • Now search for the account you want to message. Then start a conversation by clicking on the Hit button.
  • Your chat will be secure. Only you and the person receiving the message will be able to read it.

Use this way for chat in inbox

  • You can also enable this feature for chats already in your Instagram inbox. For this open that chat.
  • Click on the account name at the top of the chat window.
  • By doing this, many options will appear in front of you. Click on the Use end-to-end encryption option among them.
  • Now a new chat window will open, which will be encrypted.
