During the pandemic, various government agencies used WhatsApp to send alerts and information regarding COVID. The platform also allows users to download the COVID Certificate. Not only this, there are many other government documents which can be downloaded on WhatsApp.

MyGov is a chatbot-based service on WhatsApp, which uses DigiLocker to give users access to important documents. These include driving license, PAN card, etc., which WhatsApp users can download on WhatsApp by following a few steps. But the condition is that these documents should be saved in DigiLocker of the users. Thereafter, users can download their documents by entering their 6 digit security code. Let us know about these documents, which can be downloaded on WhatsApp.

PAN Card

Every time you exit the MyGov chat window and re-enter it, the window will appear anew and the user will need to send ‘hi’ to access the main menu. Users will be able to find their PAN card and other documents in the main menu. You will be able to download PAN card in the main menu.

driving license

Like their PAN card, users can also access their driving license directly on their mobile. Send ‘hi’ in the MyGov chat window and you’ll get a welcome message. In this message, click on the main menu option and here you will be able to access your driving license. This feature can come in handy especially when you are driving without a hard copy of your driving license

Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)

Vehicle Registration Certificate or RC is another important document which is generally sought by the traffic police. If you are not carrying the hard copy of your RC then don’t worry, you will get it directly on your WhatsApp. Log in to the MyGov chat window and send a ‘hi’ to access the main menu where you will find your RC. This will work only if your DigiLocker account is linked to your WhatsApp number.

DigiLocker through WhatsApp also allows users to access insurance policy documents for life, vehicle, medical and other types of insurance policies. For this open your WhatsApp and select MyGov Chat from the list. Type ‘hi’ here and you will get two options with a welcome message from the chatbot. Now click on the main menu option and here you will get the insurance policy documents for different types of policies.
