Common Mistakes While using AC in Vehicles in Summer Season

Can’t think of a trip without the pleasant coolness of the AC at midday. We have reached a point where we cannot travel in cars without AC. It can be said that there are not many vehicles without air conditioning. Even in lorries AC has taken place. Let’s take a look at these 5 mistakes that most car AC users make that reduce the efficiency of the AC.

∙ Turn on the AC immediately after entering the vehicle: If you start a hot parked vehicle, the first thing to do is to turn on the AC on maximum. But this is not a very good practice. Before turning on the AC, lower all four windows of the vehicle to allow the hot air to escape. After that turn on the AC only after some time. Your AC’s workload will be reduced and efficiency will increase.

∙ Recirculation mode: It is not good to put into recirculation mode immediately after entering the vehicle. The internal heat of the vehicle will be much higher than the external heat, so the recirculation mode should be set only after some time after turning on the air intake mode.

∙ Travel with AC left in the morning: Most of the people do not use AC during the less hot time i.e. early morning. Try to drive with AC if possible. This will help reduce dust pollution inside the vehicle and prevent O-rings in pipe joints from drying out after not being used. Also, driving on highways without the windows up can sometimes have a negative effect on the vehicle’s fuel economy.

∙ Improper orientation of the vent: Most people tend to point the AC vent towards their body or face. But the vent should be placed in the right position if the interior of the vehicle is to be cooled everywhere. Only if the four vents are kept straight, the rear passengers will also get the coolness of the AC.

∙ Proper maintenance: Machines need health care just like us. Be sure to service the AC when the vehicle reaches 25,000-30,000 km. Also clean the condenser of the AC during the regular service checkups of the vehicle. A dirty sealed condenser can seriously affect the performance of the AC. The cooling fin should also be checked for cracks or anything else
