After Elon Musk took over from Tesla, Twitter has seen a lot of changes. Some 50 percent of the 3,800 employees were laid off a few days ago as part of cost-cutting measures. Soon after this, Elon Musk fired at least 4,400 contract workers from the company, according to a new report.

According to reports from the platform and Axios, all contract employees under Twitter are being laid off. But the contractors have not received any official notification in this regard. They have had access to the company’s Slack and email revoked. Some employees have posted this on Twitter.

However, neither Elon Musk nor Twitter have commented on the termination of contract employees. Twitter’s sudden loss of access to its network left many of its contract employees unable to work. One of the contractors was kicked out of the network without notice while making critical changes to child safety workflows, the tweets said.

The mass layoff has created a massive crisis on Twitter. Twitter’s current staff is unable to manage the amount of content being posted every second. Meanwhile, some new features on Twitter have been added and removed, creating problems.
