A few months ago, WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp tracker, hinted about a feature called ‘Companion Mode’, which allows users to use the same WhatsApp account on two phones at the same time. It may soon reach smartphone users. Because WhatsApp has started providing that feature to Android tablets.
Everyone knows that there is an option called ‘Linked Device’ to use the WhatsApp account logged in on your phone on computer and laptop… Open the WhatsApp desktop app and scan the QR code and connect the WhatsApp on the phone. Similarly, ‘Companion Mode’ gives you the option to open your WhatsApp account on a second phone or tablet.
How to use..?
Tablet users go to Playstore and download WhatsApp. Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp. After opening the app, you will see a QR code appearing. Alternatively, if the option to enter the number appears, close WhatsApp and open it again after deleting the content from the recent menu. Then you can see the QR code.
Then open WhatsApp on the phone and select the option of Linked Devices from the three dot menu. If you select the Link a Device option and scan the QR code, WhatsApp on your phone will open on your tablet. Messages on the phone may take some time to transfer to the tab. If you are using WhatsApp beta version, you will surely get the new feature now.
Features of Companion Mode ?
Companion mode works like the Multi-Device option. You can use WhatsApp on your tablet even if your main device, the phone, is turned off or has no internet connection. Once the tab is connected to the Internet, you can start sending WhatsApp messages. Even if you log-out of WhatsApp from your phone, you will not lose your WhatsApp connection on the tab, but if you try to login again on your phone, you will have to scan the QR code one more time. WhatsApp companion mode may come to smartphones soon.
