6G wireless internet is expected to bring even more advances in terms of speed, latency, spectrum, artificial intelligence, security and energy efficiency. Many countries are still struggling for 5G network but it is being claimed that China may launch 6G wireless network soon. According to the latest reports, China is also testing ultra-fast wireless internet with a download speed of 100Gbps. That is, it is many times faster than the 5G network.
America worried about China’s success
The race for 6G is heating up and the US fears being left behind. Last Friday, the White House met with industry leaders to discuss the next generation of wireless connectivity. The US’s fear is that other countries will take the lead in standardizing 6G connectivity. Actually America’s concern is about China.
The 25th Institute of the Second Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry has reported a successful wireless transmission at the tera hertz (THz) frequency level for the first time, achieving a data speed of 100 Gbps. That is, it is faster than the 5G signal running at 1Gbps in America. The US government has set aside $1 billion for 6G research, but it is unclear whether this will be enough to overtake China.
This technology will be used for 6G
The technology uses Tera Hertz frequencies, which, like the mmWave bands for 5G, present challenges in signal distance and cloud/fog. However, with the help of terahertz, wireless communication can perform almost as well as transmission over fiber. But 6G wireless is unlikely to be launched until 2030.
This feature is a technology development that could lead to incredible new services in the entertainment, automobile and health care industries. Competition can be seen in the US and China to introduce 6G wireless as soon as possible on the basis of their innovation and technology.
