Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, says that if you trust WhatsApp, your life will be ruined. In a long note, Pavel Durov accused Meta-owned WhatsApp of working as a surveillance tool for 13 years. Recently, WhatsApp has asked users to upgrade to the latest update citing a security breach. In this context, Pavel Durov came out against WhatsApp by highlighting the security breach.
Pavel explained that there was a serious security breach in which hackers could steal your information and take over the phone’s security. He alleged that WhatsApp is never a safe app even if it changes to a new update.
Every year something happens to WhatsApp. We are seeing that putting users’ security at risk. That means that the next fall has already occurred in WhatsApp. It’s just that it will be too late to find out. Pavel Durov said that such incidents have been reported on WhatsApp in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. He also pointed out in the post that WhatsApp did not have encryption security before 2017.
WhatsApp claims to have fixed the issue with an update. But this is not reliable. Pavel also said that he does not intend to portray WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, in a bad light in order to promote Telegram. He is not asking people to come to Telegram. Because Telegram has more than 700 million active users and more than two lakh daily users. Therefore, Pavel Durov stated that Telegram does not need further promotion.
The issue is not whether you are rich or poor using WhatsApp. You run the risk of unknowingly giving hackers and intruders access to your device. That’s the problem. Using WhatsApp means that you have opened a door to hack into your phone. You can say dig yourself. Durov explained that he uninstalled WhatsApp years ago after realizing this.
