How to find out about your smartphone
First of all, find the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number in your smartphone. It is also written on your phone along with its box and bill. This is a 15 digit number. This number serves as a phone identification. Through this number, you can trace the phone and block it.
How to trace phone using IMEI number
1 First of all you have to go to the website of CEIR. It is a platform of Government of India. This service is currently available only in Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
2 After this you have to fill all the information related to your mobile here. In this, along with the brand, model, last location of the phone, a copy of the bill will also have to be uploaded.
3 Now here you have to fill your alternate number after which an OTP will come on it.
4 Now you have to enter the last location of your phone after which an OTP will come which you have to click on the submit button.
5 Finally you will get a request ID which will be useful for unblocking once your phone is found.
Now you can check the status of your lost phone through CEIR website. If your phone is found by the police, they will inform you through this portal.
