A beautiful display. Keep looking and slowly slide up and the display becomes bigger. Then it gradually descends and becomes smaller. Motorola has created wonder, wonder and curiosity in everyone with an extraordinary phone that gives an experience like watching a magic.
We’ve seen foldable phones before. We have also seen flip phones before. But this smartphone introduced by Motorola is different from what we have seen so far. Motorola has given the name Rizr to this rollable smartphone.
Motorola has showcased this experimental phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 currently underway in Barcelona. Mobile World Congress is a paradise of amazing smartphones. All the leading smartphone manufacturers showcase their best smartphones here.
The much awaited Xiaomi 13 Pro and other phones in the 13 series were launched globally at MWC. OnePlus’ amazing liquid-cooled phone was also unveiled at the same venue. MWC becomes a platform for companies to share their unique experiments and ideas.
Therefore, the venue of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is full of astonishing and awe-inspiring sights. From here you can know about the upcoming changes and current trends in the smartphone world. Motorola has also revealed its rollable display concept here through ‘Resource’.
It can be said that Riser is a revival of the old sliding smartphones. What Motorola has done here is revive the old keypad phone, Motorola’s Rizr Z3, with a rollable display. The new Reser has a 5-inch POLED display with a 15:9 aspect ratio.
A double tap on the device’s power button of this smartphone causes the display portion to move forward and the screen expands to 6.5 inches with a 22:9 aspect ratio. The motorized system takes about three seconds to roll the display.
The icons on the home screen are also aligned as the display gets bigger. It is interesting to note that this change happens gracefully without causing any discomfort. Tapping again resets the display. This Reser smartphone display has many features and can change according to different situations.
For example, if you’re watching a YouTube video in horizontal mode, the phone automatically recognizes that and stretches its display to match the aspect ratio. Similarly, the phone can extend its display to make more room for the keyboard when typing an e-mail in Gmail.
Despite all these features, there is no guarantee that this smartphone will reach the users. Because this is just a concept smartphone. That means this smartphone is just a part of the future experiments. If the technology is deemed a complete success, Motorola may bring it to market.
MWC hints that rollable smartphones could be the next big change after foldable smartphones. It is clear here that the journey towards it has started one cubit ahead through Motorola Riser. Rollable smartphones can function as standard phones while keeping the main display compact. You can also switch to a larger display when needed.
