WhatsApp is working on releasing new features for its users across the world. Meta’s instant messaging app has millions of users in India and other markets. WhatsApp is testing several features with select users under its beta program. These beta features are made available to a limited number of users, especially those who sign up for the beta program. For now, WhatsApp can work on voice status updates.

WABetaInfo also uploaded a screenshot of the feature’s interface. The report has revealed that WhatsApp users will be able to post voice status for up to 30 seconds. Once this feature is available to users, they will see a microphone icon in the lower right corner, similar to what we see in personal and group chats.

The report states that when users do not enter any text in the status section, the microphone icon pops up. Voice Status will be shared only with those people who are selected by users in their privacy settings. Be aware that these Voice Status are end-to-end encrypted.
