Facilities required for 5G service

India is excited about the launch of 5G service in the country. We have many villages that have grown up with internet speed. 5G will deliver astonishingly faster internet speeds than the existing ones. 4G had a speed of megabytes per second, but when it comes to 5G, it is gigabytes per second.

Many people may have seen that while in India, when our Prime Minister visited the Ericsson Pavilion at the Indian Mobile Congress, the inaugural venue of 5G, he drove a car in Sweden through 5G remoting. It was just a sample demonstration of 5G’s ability to transcend national boundaries and reach a global scale.

5G, the fifth generation technology of wireless communication, is considered to be the golden path towards high-speed internet connectivity in the country and the innovative possibilities and opportunities associated with it. 5G service providers in India are Jio, Airtel and VI, which are the top three telecom players.

Among them, Airtel has announced that it has started 5G service in 8 cities from the very first day. It has also been stated that Jio will start making 5G available in four cities by Diwali. As the first phase, 5G services will be available in 13 cities. None of the cities in Kerala have been included in these thirteen. That is why this ultra-high speed internet connectivity will take a little while to reach our country.

However, 5G services are available in two major cities of our neighboring states, Chennai and Bengaluru. There are many Malayalis here. Apart from these two cities, there are Malayalis in all the cities where 5G service will be launched. Therefore, there is an opportunity for the Malayalis there to enjoy 5G as soon as it arrives.

  • Another important thing is to have a smartphone that supports 5G. (Most of the phones coming out now have 5G support).
  • An active Airtel connection: All existing 4G Airtel SIMs now support 5G. So no need to get a new SIM for 5G.

  • Select the network mode and choose the 5G option.

That’s all it takes to switch to a 5G network. After switching to 5G mode, if 5G is available in your area, the phone will be available. If 5G is available, you can see the 5G logo at the top of the smartphone’s display.
